Hello! I’m Jimit Gandhi—born and raised in the vibrant city of Mumbai, India. With a graduation in Commerce, a qualified Chartered Accountant, and a Law degree, I’ve spent over 15 years in consulting.
I’m a world traveler, foodie, biker, and lover of all things culinary. Over the last 9 years, I’ve visited 34 countries around the world, and I’m far from done. My travel philosophy is simple: immerse yourself in the local culture. I believe that the true essence of travel is not just in ticking off tourist landmarks but in experiencing a country through the eyes of its people, embracing the local way of daily life, savoring the region’s finest produce, its art, music, opera’s and adventures. Whether its exploring local graveyards, local wine/beer/spirits tasting, or shopping at hidden markets, I have dive deep into the local experiences each destination has to offer—all while staying on a budget.
When I first began traveling, I was filled with questions. How would I manage navigating unfamiliar countries? Would I face language barriers, and how would I connect with locals? What if I got lost, or something went wrong? And most importantly, how could I stay safe while exploring the unknown?
But looking back, traveling on my own has pushed me far beyond my comfort zone. It’s opened my mind to new ways of thinking, sharpened my adaptability, and strengthened my problem-solving skills. Each challenge has been a steppingstone in my personal growth, boosting my confidence and independence. I’ve learned new skills, encountered different cultures, and gained a more global perspective that has enriched my life.
What sets me apart? I have planned every journey myself from securing visas and booking affordable flights to finding cozy local accommodations and navigating public transport, I took care of it all. I prioritize discovering both popular sights and off-the-beaten-path treasures, ensuring I experience each destination like a true local.
Through my travels, I’ve experienced that exploring the world doesn’t have to be expensive. With the right knowledge, thoughtful planning, and a sense of adventure, anyone can travel the world affordably and meaningfully.
My goal is to share my experiences and insights with fellow travelers, helping you explore the world on a budget while living and experiencing it like a local.
